# WcdRequest

`WcdRequest` is a plain data-transfer object carrying the WCD (Workers' Compensation Division) number and updating user ID needed to update a Guidewire claim's WCD number. It is built by `clsRequestManager.UpdateWcdData` when a WCD number was supplied on save, and passed to the `GWClaimDataApi` client via an `Update` route to `claims/{claimID}/wcdNumber` ([Business rules](../../business-rules.md)). It has no base class and no persistence behavior of its own.

## Purpose
- Carry the WCD number and the updating user's ID needed to update a Guidewire claim's WCD number field.
- Decouple the Guidewire REST payload shape from `clsRequestManager`'s internal case-save fields.

## Context
- Namespace: `SAIF.Application.Claim.Legal`
- Assembly/package: `SAIF.Application.Claim.Legal.dll` (embedded library, constructed by `clsRequestManager` and consumed by the `GWClaimDataApi` API client)

## Public members
| Member | Signature | Purpose |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `New()` | `Public Sub New()`* | Default constructor for property-initializer-style construction before serialization to the Guidewire API request body. |
| `WcdNumber` | `Public Property WcdNumber As String`* | Carries the Workers' Compensation Division number to be written onto the Guidewire claim. |
| `WcdUser` | `Public Property WcdUser As String`* | Identifies the user performing the WCD-number update, for Guidewire audit purposes. |

## Behavioral notes
- This DTO is only constructed when `clsRequestManager`'s internal WCD field was supplied on save; the update call is skipped otherwise*.
- Any exception raised sending this request is caught and logged (`Logging.clsLogError.CreateError`) without failing the underlying case save ([Business rules](../../business-rules.md)).

## Constraints and usage notes
- As a plain DTO, `WcdRequest` performs no validation of its own; correctness of the values depends entirely on the caller (`clsRequestManager`)**.

> **Note:** Statements marked with * were inferred from code structure, naming conventions, or
> contextual evidence where direct confirmation was not available in source artifacts. Statements
> marked with ** could not be confirmed; treat as unknown until verified.
